Monique spent over 20 years in the fashion industry, where she earned a reputation as a compassionate and trusted leader. She is now a realtor, fostering strong, meaningful relationships with her clients. In October 2022, her 9-year-old daughter was racially profiled when a neighbor called the police on her as she was trying to save trees from the invasive “spotted lanternfly.” This traumatic event shook the family, but Monique turned it into a teachable moment for their community.
Monique leveraged the support she received, forming meaningful partnerships with institutions like Yale University, Princeton University, NJIT, Stevens Institute of Technology, and the YWCA of Northern New Jersey. These relationships have been central to her advocacy for girls in STEM, public health, and youth voice, as well as nurturing her own daughter’s budding interest in chemistry. She also facilitated diversity, equity, and inclusion training for their local school district and expanded female-focused STEM programs.
In addition to her advocacy work, Monique now serves as the business manager for both of her daughters, driven by a deep passion for service and a commitment to paying it forward.
