Hailey Valles is a currently a Master of Public Health candidate in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at the Yale School of Public Health. Hailey recently received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Public Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2022. At UCLA, Hailey has served in numerous sexual and reproductive health research roles as a research fellow
in the Carter-Huggins Community Development and Social Justice Program (CDSJ), research associate for the UCLA Clinical and Translational Institute, and research intern for California Latinas for Reproductive Justice. Aside from her research, Hailey served as an elected council member of the UCLA Undergraduate Student Association Council, along with other appointed leadership roles, promoting equity, inclusion, access, and retention of historically marginalized communities in higher education.
Hailey’s long-term goal is to go to medical school to become an OB/GYN and continue conducting sexual and reproductive health research in order to inform culturally-relevant approaches to sexual and reproductive health education and promotion in the southeast Los Angeles area where her hometown is.
