Funcia Jean-Louis is a recent graduate from The George Washington University, with an Exercise Science degree (pre–Physician Assistant concentration) and a minor in Biological & Brain Sciences. She aspires to work as an OBGYN & Psych Physician Assistant, while also being involved in health education and intervention programming for youth and families in underprivileged local communities. Funcia has been a part of her school’s Black Student Union, leading the Black Heritage Celebration— which encourages the exploration of and promotion of the values and traditions of African-American, Caribbean, African and Afro-Latino cultures throughout the year. She also continues to be a part of the Black Girl Pre-health Collective, creating a space for mentorship, unity, and motivation for Black females with pre- health concentration at GW. She is also a new member of the Montclair Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc. and can’t wait to continue serving the greater communities in Essex County. She is excited to continue working for the Substances and Sexual Health (SASH) Lab at Yale, breaching the barrier between youth and public health, and disseminating information to those in need.
