Ayishat Yussuf, BS

Graduate Research Assistant

Ayishat Yussuf is an incoming Master of Public Health student at the Yale School of Public Health, where she will pursue a concentration in Environmental Health Sciences. She graduated from Spelman College with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Public Health. Her academic and research experiences have focused on environmental health, food insecurity, health disparities, and environmental exposures.

Through research experiences with organizations including the National Institutes of Health, SUPERNOVA Research Lab, and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, she has explored how food apartheid and neighborhoods shape health outcomes. Ayishat is passionate about advancing health equity and addressing environmental health challenges affecting minoritized communities. As she begins her MPH at Yale, she hopes to strengthen her research skills and contribute to community-centered solutions that address social and environmental and social challenges affecting underserved populations.
