YOUTH AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The SASH Lab is dedicated to conducting community-engaged research that highlights the strengths of youth of color, their families and the communities in which they live in. We understand that youth are nested within their environments and it is essential for researchers to work collaboratively with community partners, community leaders, and families in order to impact the systems that youth reside within.
We provide support to the communities we serve in multiple ways. Our work seeks to not only inform research, but also practice and policy involving youth. Our most popular ways of supporting communities have been to evaluate youth programs, advocate for policy reform, and disseminate data to community partners.

Our future work in communities will be informed by our new youth and community advisory board which will launch in November 2020. Our board will consist of community leaders and youth that will provide us with insight to improve our existing research projects and initiatives.
